What Grabs You?

Do you have those books that grab you?  You disappear into them and it takes a missile to bring you back to the real world.  You would read these books over and over again.  It is something about them.

My kids have books like that.  They LOVE Tiger Can't Sleep and any book about Geronimo Stilton.  My son will read the Easy Reader Star Wars books over and over again until my brain has sizzled and I can't think straight.

But that is what we want for our readers.  We want books that they love, that tug at their hearts, that connect with something inside them.  We want them to experience the adventure, love, hilarity, and fun of books so that they will be inspired to read more.

So here is your homework:  Make a list of 5 books that grab you.  Do it with your kids.  Then go read some of them.  Immerse yourselves and enjoy.
